How to Market Your Unsold Books on the Internet: It's Easy

How to Market Your Unsold Books on the Internet: It's Easy Judy Cullins
c. 2003

Your book expresses your wondrous information, your creativity, your genius. It's your dream come true. Or is it? You have already tried a few venues--maybe an expo, book signings, press releases, book reviews, distributors, wholesalers, speaking and book tours.

Now, there is a new way to market those unsold books. Use the Internet. And you don't even have to have your own Web site or spend money.

Get ready to create a continuous, passive income. Be ready for those checks and charges coming your way often!

What Kind of Books Can I Market?

Depending on your passion, your willingness to learn a new way, and putting energy into your campaign, you can market any kind of book: how-to, non-fiction, fiction, short special reports, booklets, training manuals, workbooks, poetry, short stories, articles.

Sell your Print Books and Create New eBooks

If you already have a print book, you can still sell it Online. One way to draw attention to it is to write a short eBook on the same subject. This won't take long.

Make this eBook around 10-25 pages. You can take the information right from your print book. Just copy and paste information on one topic, perhaps one chapter. Reduce the number of stories to keep it short. Then add a new introduction and conclusion. People on the Net want straight-to-the point information.

Put your eBook into Word and Portable Document Format.Use your Word file to update and edit and use your PDF file to send your book by email.

Who will Buy?

You can sell your short eBook for 6.95-$14.95, depending on how much your audience wants it and how well you write your sales copy. You can also give this book away to stimulate your audience to want the whole story--the print book.

Online audiences read all kinds of books. Many will want the shorter electronic version and be perfectly willing to print it. Others only want a book they can hold and enjoy on their nightstand a long time. They will buy the longer version.

To publicize your books start writing short articles, anywhere from 400-1200 words on your book's topics. When you submit to Online ePublishers, Web masters and ezine owners, each article will be seen by thousands, even hundreds of thousands of Online readers. They are hungry for information. That's why they go to the Web.

To the bottom of the ezine, add a signature file that gives your title, tag line, book title, free offer, phone numbers, and e and Web addresses.

While your title may impress some, your tag line is far more important. What major benefit do you bring potential buyers? For example, "Helps professionals make money on their books through the Internet." Offer a free report or a free ezine to seal the deal. Not only do more people want to know more about your book, you will have their email address to send further promotions to.

Divide and conquer. Use your one book as a spring board for many others and catapult your sales.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire brings back Harry, Ron, and Hermione for more adventure! Harry is mysteriously selected as the fourth contestant in the dangerous Triwizard Tournament. Each competitor in the international competition must confront a fire-breathing dragon, rescue friends from the icy depths of the Black Lake, and navigate the twisting mysteries of a vast, dangerous maze. It may sound difficult, but Harry is older, wiser and more skilled now. Still, even he isn't ready for another show with the evil Lord Voldemort himself!

Customer Review: Controls not explained!

Let me start off with the good things:

-the graphics are phenomenal

-you can choose your character

Now, the bad things:

-unlike the other HP games, you CANNOT wander around the Hogwarts grounds, which I enjoyed.

-The mouse has NO action whatsoever, not even in the main menu!

-I get stuck on so many levels, because most controls are NOT EXPLAINED! Not even in the manual!

-your "friends" (whoever you're not playing with) are so slow in following you and are almost always occupied with sneezing or wandering around when you need help so badly!

-I tried to install this game for one full year and never got it to install until I did some tricky things

Overall, I would have rated this game five stars if the bad things were fixed.

I think that EA Games was just porting over a Play Station game (I can tell by the graphics style) and not bothering to make it anymore convenient. EA did a poor job here. I would sort of recommend this game.

Customer Review: The worst. Period.

I LOVED the first four (SS, CoS, TPoA, and QWC) games.

The first one was a little too easy (I beat it in three days after some practice), the second one being a bit too hard (I have a fear of fire snails), the Third one and Quiddich World Cup being perfect.

When I bought the first game I was expecting another GREAT game. But here is what I got: graphics that were grainy, NO exploring, and no fun trunks with goodies. it was a HARD game, and i'm still stuck on the second task. I can't believe I decided to buy PetVet later because I wanted this. Here's hoping you can explore in the fifth one.

Hannah Montana "Best of Both Worlds" Singing Doll

Hannah Montana "Best of Both Worlds" Singing Doll
Since debuting as the Disney Channel's highest rated premiere, Hannah Montana has won over fans with a mix of playful antics, fresh looks, and chart-topping music. The story centers on young Miley Stewart (a girl-next-door type fans can relate to) who just happens to lead the secret life of pop star Hannah Montana (something fans can aspire to). This singing doll is fashioned on her pop sensation persona and includes the clothing, accessories, and even hit music from the show.

Best of Both Worlds
Hannah comes with a mic, brush, poster, and back stage pass.

The 13-inch-tall Hannah is wearing an authentic, albeit miniature, version of an outfit she actually wore on her sold out 70-city tour: black boots, shimmery leggings, a tiered mini-skirt, a print T-shirt, black leather jacket, and bracelet. Other accessories that come with the doll include a small brush to help style her long locks, a backstage pass for you to wear, a poster, and a microphone for Hannah to hold while performing. This last piece is crucial because when it is lifted to Hannah's mouth, the doll actually sings the show's theme song (and her most popular hit) "Best of Both Worlds."

If you prefer her song "The Other Side of Me" there is another Hannah doll available separately. And if you want to reenact her live show in your living room, check out the Hannah Montana In-Concert Pop Stage.

Customer Review: Hannah Montana Doll

My daughter desperately wanted this doll for Christmas. She was thrilled with it. So far it has withstood being completly undressed, redressed, undressed, hair brushed at least a thousand times and playing the recording in the doll at least ten thousand times. My daughter loves her Hannah Montana and the doll appears to be taking the playing wear and tear fairly well. Now if I could only find more outfits for her I'd be happier. Overall a well made doll.

Customer Review: Hannah Montana Singing Doll

This doll was a gift for my six year old niece. She loves that the doll sings although it is only a short clip. She also liked the outfit on the doll as well as the pretend back stage pass.

Customer Review: External Hard Drive

The Western Digital 2.0 GB external hard drive is great. It backs up my computer automatically every night with tons or room to spare to download music, movies, etc. I highly recommend this hard drive.

Customer Review: Ticking Time Bomb

I received this drive for Christmas. It lasted two and a half months of light use before failing inexplicably. Blinking front indicator light, but the drive won't spin up and no computer I connect it to will recognize it. The day before it worked fine. Tech support was unhelpful, and I'm loathe to exchange the unit for another from the manufacturer. The drive is sealed inside the plastic shell, making removal difficult. I would not use this drive for anything valuable, it's cheaply made and untrustworthy.
