Public Domain Books and the Importance of Multiple Revenue Streams

Public Domain Books and the Importance of Multiple Revenue Streams

When it comes to starting a new business, whether on the internet or in the brick and mortar world, it is important to establish more than one stream of revenue. The importance of multiple streams of revenue is a familiar one to many people, and while multiple revenue streams are important to those in the nine to five world, these multiple streams of revenue are even more important to those who rely on their own business as their sole source of revenue.

The advantages of establishing multiple streams of revenue are easy to understand. If your business depends on the sale of a single product or service, your success or failure is also entirely dependent on that one product or service. If external factors cause the demand for that product or service to decline, the business could easily fail.

If, however, the business owner has carefully constructed more than a single revenue stream, the impact of the failure of one source of revenue will not be as devastating. To the web site owner, there are a number of ways to achieve these multiple revenue streams, but one of the simplest is to offer several different but related products for sale.

When it comes to selling public domain books, selling a number of different public domain books, covering a number of different topics, is a good way to generate additional streams of revenue while at the same time reducing the amount of risk that any one public domain work will be a poor seller.

Of course it is important that each of the public domain books offered contain valuable information and that the information provided is in high demand. Just because a work has entered the public domain does not mean that the information is stale or dated. There are many subjects that are timeless, and these subjects are perfect for repackaging and reselling public domain books.

Of course the additional streams of revenue do not have to end with the addition of more public domain books to the web site. The internet itself offers enormous opportunities for additional streams of revenue, including affiliate income and advertising revenues. Creating a web site which is full of useful and in demand information, and one that generates lots of traffic, is a great way to generate a steady stream of affiliate and advertising income, and this income, combined with the sales of public domain books, can provide a handsome income and a profitable business.

5th Gear

5th Gear
Like his friend Vince Gill, Brad Paisley has achieved the often-difficult feat of reconciling being an entertainer and world-class guitarist. He's proven that on four admirable albums, and 5th Gear follows in that vein. Certainly "Ticks," an airy, radio-friendly ditty, is not the true substance here. That comes with such superior fare as the insightful "All I Wanted Was a Car" and "Online," a sly satire of people's Web facades. While his duet with Carrie Underwood ("Oh Love") is a bit cut and dried, Paisley ably handles "Letter to Me," "It Did," and "Mr. Policeman," a 21st-century outrun-the-law tune. The closing hymn, "When We All Get to Heaven," and ripping instrumental "Throttleneck" are Paisley at his best. It's admirable that he invites his venerable buddies, Little Jimmy Dickens, George Jones, Vince Gill, and Bill Anderson, along with Dolly Parton, to join in, but the obligatory "Kung Pao Buckaroos" skit is wearing a bit thin. Better to feature them musically, the way he includes Dickens, Gill, and Anderson on "Bigger Fish to Fry." In a time where lines between county and pop are blurring far too much, it's comforting to know Paisley still realizes and respects the differences. --Rich Kienzle

Customer Review: Top Gear

Just when you think he can't get better, Paisley surpasses your expectations. There is no song on this album which would not be a hit single. The power and subtlety of his guitar work and the charming corniness of his humor have only improved. It is impossible not to salute the relentless pursuit of perfection, especially when it is combined with humor and humility.

Customer Review: Wow

He continues to blow me away. Brad is an excellent guitarist. Fun lyrics. Just basically makes me happy when I hear his music.

Customer Review: "Phoenix" Delivers

After a somewhat disappointing fourth installement, the folks across the pond have delivered a good film, and a fairly faithful adaption.

The acting is as good as I've come to expect from the talented stars, and a couple new additions shine as well. Evanna Lynch plays Luna perfectly, and Imelda Staunton is a great addition to the cast as Umbridge. I thoroughly hated her guts, which, of course, is just right.

David Yates, while not the best so far, has talent...Half Blood Prince should be good.

The fighting in the end is magnificient! We hadn't really seen wizards doing battle yet, and this just shows how cool it can really be.

The music, while not extraordinary, is good enough to help the film's quality.

Overall, a good, fun film. If anything, it'll really made you thristy for the sequel...

Customer Review: Excellent Adaptation

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Two-Disc Special Edition) (Harry Potter 4) is my favorite of the series, but this one came pretty close. It was a great adaptation, considering how long the book is.

Pretty much everything worked great for me, except the first scenes of the dementor attack, i think it could have been so much better and more intense.

The rest is great, Imelda Stauton was amazing as Dolores Umbridge, a great performance, i hope they bring her back for the seventh movie, would be great to see her again.

It doesnt have much action but is ok, is mostly character driven. The trio has improved their craft, especially Daniel Radcliffe, although the best of the three is still Emma Watson.

The special effects were incredible, especially in the ministry battle, wich in my opinnion was the best scene of the movie. The music was great.

Overall a good movie, the DVD is great, could have had more extras like the goblet of fire dvd, but is satisfying.

Bad Brains

Bad Brains
Legendary hardcore-punk album from 1982, considered the definitive landmark for breaking the NYC hardcore scene. All material on this CD was recorded at 171-A Studios, NYC, during August, September, and October 1981, except "Pay to Cum," "I Luv I Jah," "Jah Clling Dub" recorded live at 171-A on May 16, 1981. Liner Notes by Ira Kaplan. With Lyrics.

Customer Review: The Pioneers of Hardcore

They say punk has no memory. That styles and influences are forgotten only to be brought back by the next generation as something brand new. The Bad Brains break that trend with the immortal "Bad Brains" album. Every track is a blueprint for the hardcore sound. Sure there will always be arguments about other bands that came before or since but the Bad Brains not only laid it down in the studio but continue to tour today. Definitely a must buy for both musicians interested in the sound and fans interested in the music.

Customer Review: This Is Hardcore

I'm gonna keep this short because there really is no need to get in depth. If you like hardcore(and I'm not talking about all that crap most of todays youth is calling "hardcore"), you need this album. No one else sounds like the Bad Brains and they were pioneers in the hardcore movement.
